Today as this is my first post lets talk about some general topics of our railways.
- Indian railways manages the fourth largest railway network in the world by size, with a route length of 67,368-kilometre (41,861 mi) as of March 2017.
- The over head wire from which supply is taken by the trains is called the OHE(Over Head Equipment).
- OHE carrys about 25,000 volts potential which is useful in running locomotives
- Basically 25KV is not used by any of the machines of locomotive,the 25KV first steps down to required voltage which is about maximum of 2000 volts.
